FAQ

  • Does online therapy work as well as face to face therapy?

Absolutely. Over the years I come to experience that online therapy offers the opportunity for deep and life changing work. I find that the people I work with are often able o access their inner life faster than in person, because they can do it from the safety of their own home or even office.

  • What can I expect in the first session?

The first session is an initial meeting between.you and me. This is a chance for you to express what is happening for you. We will most likely get a sense of your wider history and what you are hoping to achieve from therapy. At the end of this meeting, I will share my recommendations and my thoughts on how to move forwards. We will begin the course of therapy in the following session. If I do not feel I am the best psychologist to work with you, I will let you know.

  • How long will I need to be in therapy?

It depends, the type of work I offer is healing from life long wounds, from early beliefs that you are unlovable and unworthy. This is not a quick fix, and it takes time to heal. I tend to work with people for a minimum of six month, sometimes shorter, but often longer. I work three out of four weeks in a month, and some of my people meet more often during my working weeks.

  • How do I know if you are the right therapist for me?

If, what I have written on my websites resonates for you, book a free consultation and let’s find out!

  • What is the investment?

My fees are £150 for a 50 minute session.

5 sessions: £675 valid for three months.

10 sessions: £ 1250 valid for six months.

    EMDR - coming soon.

I sometimes have a reduced fee slot, so do reach out. If you use insurance, also send me message as things work differently for each insurance company.

Alternative options - I recommend you speak with your local NHS GP for free counselling or therapy sessions. Local charities and counselling training institutes can sometimes offer low/no cost therapy sessions.

The MIND website might also be able to offer you free support and information.

  • Why are your fees so much higher than a counsellor or psychotherapist?

Counselling psychologists are mental health specialists who have undergone years of course work in psychology and human behaviour, statistics and research, and supervised placements in hospitals and community settings. We have often worked in senior clinical and leadership roles in the NHS before entering private practice. The fees reflect the high degree of specialist knowledge that counselling psychologists bring to serving our clients.
